Phyllis Jodette Lacy Tuesday, December 6, 1955 - Friday, June 16, 2017

Phyllis Lacy, 61, Kansas City, MO passed away Friday June 16th, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was born December 6th, 1955 in Kansas City,KS to Bebee Burns and Edgerloan Shaffer. She was raised and grew up as a lifetime member of Bethel Baptist Church of KCK for more than 25 plus years. Within the last ten years she became a member of Miracle Valley church family of KCMO. Phyllis attended Sumner High in KCK and later received her GED in 1973. She received numerous community service awards within her community. Phyllis worked in multiple management positions from fast food chains to retail. While working in management in 1976 is when she met her lifetime partner and husband Michael of 38 years. She is proceeded in death by her grandmother Nola Mae White, father Edgerloan Shaffer, brother Alvino Piersery, daughter Sharonda White, and son Santol Lacy. She is survived by her mother Bebee Burns, husband Michael Lacy, daughter Shaya (Lonal) Duncan, son Shamoz (Brittiney) Lacy. Fifth-teen grand children Yeh-Shen(Jerry), Mazurennae (Eric), Travon, Tajaynay, Charles, Kelieon, Jordell, Kaprise, Jada, Lonal Jr, Xaivyon, Z’Kye, Y’Quira, Wysdohm, Jordan and six great grandchildren. Six brothers Harold Piersey Sr., Jhnno Piersey, Aldo Gant, Andre Talley, Anthony Talley, Leroy (Janet) Davis, and Craig Shaffer. Three sisters Zodie Piersey, Angela Shaffer Curry, and Roslyn (Pervis) Powell. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be held Saturday June 24th at 11am at Forest Grove Baptist Church,1417 N. 9th street, Kansas City, Ks. We give reverence to the dead through aervice to the living.
